A bustling Dubai nightlife defines the night. Despite being a Muslim state, alcohol is widely available in Dubai. In the evening, you will often see people settling down enjoying a drink in the scorching sun. Many fine bars and nightclubs are located inside Dubai hotels. Both local and international DJ's frequent Dubai's nightclubs. However, most of the bars close at 3am and you must be over 21 to drink alcohol. The Irish village is host to the oldest bar in Dubai along with Carter’s, the Pyramids and the Wafi Center being prime destinations. Monday nights spells out cocktail night at DH10, a popular hang out for the younger generation, then head on over to upscale market Ginseng (in the Wafi Center) which offers Asian décor, elegant lighting and diverse cocktails. If you are in a rowdy mood then continue on to Rock Bottom, at the Regent Palace Hotel, where loud music thumps out, shots are downed with force and pool tables provide some entertainment for party goers. Located at Jumeirah Beach, the Sho Cho at the Marina Resort harbors an outdoor jetty for special events, refreshing cocktails, live music and it is famed for attracting the “prettier” people in the Emirate.Dubai nightclubs are starting to set a trend for Dubai nightlife, and the western styled clubbing scene is really starting to pick up, with household DJs frequently making the trip over from Europe. The most popular club is Planetarium at the Wafi City. Since the closing of the legendary Lodge Club, all the main DJ’s now head over to Planetarium and strut their stuff to a crowd of vibrant youths. If techno music floats your boat, then Scream at the Ramada hotel is the choice venue. Other notable clubs include Pancho Villa’s at the Astoria Hotel, or for live bands and music take a trip to Planet Hollywood’s or the Mexican bar, Bordertown.A more relaxed and tranquil evening can be had at one of the numerous Dubai coffee houses. Here guests can dine casually and enjoy some apple flavored tobacco smoked from a Shisha pipe, which makes for a true Middle Eastern experience. Please note that a strict age limit of 21 years is in practice in all places that sell alcohol, with some clubs having a 25-year age limit. Dress code is casual in most places, although in high classed establishments jeans, sandals or sneakers will not be allowed. Closing times of all bars tend to be around 1am, with the clubs open until 3am. Dubai hotel bars have a free license, so in theory, they can close whenever they like. Ladies Night runs weekly on Tuesdays and Sundays.Alamo at the Dubai Marine Beach Resort and Spa is popular with both locals and tourists and always busy at weekend. The bar houses wonderful nightly live band music.Apartment Lounge and Club inside the Jumeirah Beach Hotel is open from Tuesday to Saturday. Some of the best music flavors, including R&B, hip hop and soul, are offered here.
